Illinois is not the only state to be concerned about the appropriate use of the Danielson Framework for Teaching in early childhood classrooms. Other states have worked to provide early childhood resources and examples to support teachers and teacher evaluators to ensure accurate and reliable observation data that can be used to coach and guide improvements in teaching practice. This page highlights the work of two states: New Jersey and Pennsylvania. These states have developed companion guides to the Danielson Framework that provide early childhood examples in each of the domains, guiding questions to support professional learning, and example evidence and student learning outcomes. As we learn more about similar work in other states, districts, and/or schools, we will share those materials on this page.
