Erika Hunt, Senior Policy Analyst
Dr. Erika Hunt is a Senior Policy Analyst in the Center for the Study of Education Policy at Illinois State University and served as the Project Director for the Illinois State Action for Education Leadership Project (IL-SAELP), a statewide initiative funded by The Wallace Foundation that successfully spearheaded several grassroots reforms directed at improving school leadership.In addition to the IL-SAELP project, Dr. Hunt has staffed initiatives on the topics of leadership for the learning continuum, teacher and principal performance evaluation, high school to college transitions, and college migration patterns in Illinois. Dr. Hunt brings experience to the Center in state policy as a staff member for former Governor Jim Edgar, through an internship at the Illinois Board for Higher Education and employment at two public universities in Illinois. Hunt received her doctorate in 2004 in higher education policy at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she specialized in P-20 education policy reform studying under Dr. Stan Ikenberry. She has published articles in the areas of P-20 education reform, school leadership - including K-12 and early childhood leadership - and articulation issues - including the bridge from K-12 to postsecondary education and two-year and four-year colleges. She is currently a member of the Governor’s P-20 Council in Illinois and co-chairs the P-20 Committee on Teacher and Leadership Effectiveness.

Dr. Pam Rosa is a charter member of the Danielson Group who has had a wide range of teaching, mentoring-coaching, and administrative experiences. Pam served as an award-winning Principal, Curriculum and Professional Development Coordinator, a state School Improvement Consultant, and most importantly as a Teacher/Instructional Coach. Most recently Pam served as the Director for Effective Teaching Practices at a non-profit educational “think tank” focused upon educational change through collaborative partnerships between union and administrative leadership. As a member of the Danielson Group, Pam has provided extensive educational support in designing and implementing the Framework for Teaching (Danielson, 2013) evaluation and professional growth process; aligned Mentoring and Coaching approaches; and facilitated collaborative conversations using Learning-Focused Supervision (Lippman & Wellman, 2013) and District/School Improvement structures using SMART tools and processes (Conzemius, 2013). Pam’s current Teaching Effectiveness educational research focuses on evaluator practices in teacher evaluation for teaching effectiveness, validation of the Framework for Teaching in early learning grades (PreK-3rd Grade), and integration of the Framework for Teaching and Common Core Instruction into the teaching/student learning process.
